He was the Cougar's Most Valuable Player two years in a row and Western Hockey League All-Star. Pete was also named one of Victoria's Best Athletes. He was then drafted by the New Jersey Devils. En route to his professional career, he studied physical education at the University of Calgary and led the Calgary Dinosaurs to the country's number one ranking in hockey two years in a row. He then played professionally in Sweden and North America. Working in summer hockey schools for over ten years, Pete saw a need for personal one-on-one coaching. He became co-owner of the National Hockey School in Victoria in 1992. There, he developed the school's training programs. He also took an active part in public relations, sales and marketing. His systems development included employee hiring, firing and training practices, and administrative and financial record keeping. During the winter months, Pete worked on development of his own school and on December 1, 1993 opened the first Puckmasters location in Victoria, British Columbia and in May of 1995, he sold his ownership of the National Hockey School in order to concentrate fully on Puckmasters. Pete is grateful for the support from his father and mother Cec and Pauline Fry during his hockey career and all throughout Puckmasters history. Pete has spoken publicly on many occasions including at the Associate Collegiate Entrepreneurs, YBO and Minor Hockey groups.
