Dear Bill,

Thank you so much for being such an inspiring coach. Douglas is thrilled with Puckmasters. He actually got ready himself before the session on Saturday. That has never happened before. He said he really likes you because you're so positive and encouraging. I completely agree with your eval and defer to your best judgement on what he needs to work on and the order in which he needs to do it.

I even learned from the last lesson. Thanks again for your encouragement. You're really making a difference and changing his whole outlook and pumping up his self-confidence.

Bill,

I am very impressed and want to give credit where credit is due. Since you started coaching my two boys I am seeing so many positive things:

Sean:

• Shooting the puck: he went from a boy with a timid shot to a scorer with a powerful wrist shot. At a recent game he took a shot and one of the dads from the opposing team said "that kids got quite a shot!"
• Skating: the practices on the resistance surface is making him stronger and he has learned when to stick handle and when not to.
• Coachability: he went from a boy who had a hard time paying attention to a player who is learning by listening and watching.

Nicky:

• Shooting the puck: He is shooting the puck with confidence and scoring goals (and you know how important that is to a 6 year old).
• Skating: He has learned to stop in both directions and backward skate.
• Coachability: like Sean, Nicky is learning to listen.

Both boys:

• Accomplishments: your emphasis on "the biggest achievement" since the last practice (and what was the key to the success) is great for their self esteem and great positive re-enforcement.
• Goal setting: The session you did with Sean on how to prep for Squirt tryouts was first class. In all my years, including business school, work at international consulting firms, and well known high tech companies, I have never seen such an effective and meaningful goal setting session. Not only did you help Sean achieve his goal, you are giving him tools that he can applied in everything he does (he is prepping for the MCAS using your technique!). And yesterday when you asked Nicky what his goal was for his last game he said to score a goal, and sure enough he scored a goal today!
