What is the Puckmasters 3 on 3 Adult Hockey League?

It is an exciting new game played with three skaters and one goalie for each team on the ice at a time. Played at Puckmasters Hockey Training Centers where the ice surfaces are a little bit smaller than conventional sheets of ice, it represents a fun alternative to traditional 5 on 5 hockey.

What makes 3 on 3 fun and unique?

Several reasons have been given to us from those who have played the game:

·         Very quick game with lots of action and more scoring opportunities

·         All players are involved in the play making it more interesting for players even of different skill levels

·         Game of strategy and position

·         Less aggressive physical contact because of smaller ice surface and quicker game

·         Easier to put together a team of only 7-10 players

Are there special rules?

·         Many of the rules are the same as traditional hockey with a few exceptions:

·         No red lines (no icing)

·         Penalty shots instead of 2 minute penalties

·         Shoot out at end of game if it is tied

How many players per team?

We recommend ten (three lines and one goalie) but as few as 6 skaters and one goalie can register.
