Gilbert Brule, NHL Edmonton Oilers
The Gilbert Brule Story:
Gilbert Brule went to Puckmasters and trained twice a week for three years. Shortly after at age 14 he accumulated an astounding 97 goals and 152 points in 56 games for his Bantam Team. Gilbert made Junior A at age 15 playing for the Quesnel Millionaires of the BCHL before being drafted by the Vancouver Giants as the first overall pick of the 2002 WHL bantam draft.
Brule's great accomplishments include being named WHL Rookie of the Year, being named Player of the Game for the 2005 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, and was chosen 6th overall by the Columbus Bluejackets in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Gilbert is currently playing for the Edmonton Oilers of the NHL.
"I learned how to shoot the puck and how to take all different kinds of shots. We did a lot of accuracy drills: puck handling moves, then shooting, and trying to pick off the corners. My coaches taught me a lot."
