Founder Pete Fry and NHL Superstar Cam Neely played together for Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League. Following this, Cam moved on to have a stellar NHL career. He scored 395 goals and was considered the greatest power forward of his generation. It was his talent and determination on the ice that set him apart from his peers and led the Bruins to retire his number and the Hall of Fame to enshrine him. But the biggest goal Cam ever scored came after his playing days were over when he teamed up with Tufts Medical Center and started the Neely Foundation in 1995 to help families and raise money to find a cure. Cam lost both of his parents to this awful disease and decided to turn his family’s tragedy into a positive for every other family affected by this disease going forward. He would use the talent and determination he showed on the ice and fight the disease head on. By creating the Neely House & Neely Foundation he could raise money for cancer research and provide comfort to families battling this disease!
