John Beck
John started playing AAA hockey at the age of 16 when he moved to Williams Lake. In 2 seasons of Midget John never lost a playoff game which lead to his team winning Midget AAA Provincials and Hosting the Air Canada Cup Pacific Finals.
John was named Top Goaltender in the association which was a huge feat as his goalie partner was Montreal Canadians Star Carey Price.
John, over the next couple years however, experienced numerous injuries which limited his time in Junior to brief stints in Princeton, Quesnel and Williams Lake. Finally after having groin surgery, John got into senior hockey playing both AA and AAA where he continued his winning ways with a record of 32-11-3 over a 5 year span.
John has been with Puckmasters now for nearly 6 years. First as a trainer, manager and owner in B.C. to our Manager and Head Trainer here in Edmonton. His former students include 2009 CHL Rookie of the Year-Brett Connolly and Chilliwacks Bruins leading scorer Ryan Howse who was drafted 3rd round 74th overall by the Calgary Flames in 2009. The list of players taught by John and drafted into the WHL is now over 2 dozen and growing every year!
