Coaching Partner
Andre Perez
Andre Perez is a dedicated hockey skills coach with Junior A and collegiate playing experience. His coaching philosophy centers on holistic athletic growth, focusing on five critical performance domains: game knowledge, speed, strength, conditioning, and agility. Andre's methodology combines technical skill refinement with advanced sports science principles, enabling athletes to unlock their full potential through targeted, evidence-based training protocols both on and off the ice.

With expertise in biomechanical assessment and personalized skill progression, Andre designs training programs that translate directly to in-game performance. His coaching has helped numerous athletes reach elite levels, solidifying his reputation as a leader in hockey player development.

Coaching Partner
A.J. Walczak
Coach Walczak has been a key part of Puckmasters since 2008, mentoring players and coaches while also serving as a goalie coach for the U.S. National Team Development Program (NTDP). He has coached at international tournaments with Team USA and previously worked with the USHL’s Lincoln Stars and the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit, where he developed NHL goaltenders like Even Cormier (Winnipeg Jets), Ivan Prosvetov (Colorado Avalanche) and Tristian Lennox (New York Islanders).

Recognized as a top goalie coach, Walczak has trained elite netminders, including Vezina Trophy winners and Stanley Cup champions Sergei Bobrovsky and Andrei Vasilevskiy. He has also helped develop numerous junior and NCAA goaltenders, including Puckmasters alum Trey Augustine (Michigan State/Detroit Red Wings).

Skill Coach
Caleb Cathcart
Caleb played youth hockey for HoneyBaked AAA, Belle Tire AAA, and Little Caesars AAA, before playing junior hockey for the Philadelphia Little Flyers (EHL).

Caleb went on to play college hockey for Anna Maria College (NCAA D3). He is also a dean's list student and ECEL Champion.

Managing Coach / Head Coach, Scheduler, Skills Instructor
Colin Ronayne (AKA Rones)
Ronayne has worked with Puckmasters since 2013. He is one of our Managers in charge of managing the coaches throughout the training facility and develops comprehensive lesson plans and evaluations for every student that comes through Puckmasters.
Ronayne played Junior hockey in the CSHL with the Metro Jets and in the EJHL with the Syracuse Stars. After juniors, Coach Ronayne attended and played for Oakland University (ACHA D1) for four years, graduating with a communications degree. After graduation, he played one season of minor pro hockey in the SPHL (Knoxville Ice Bears) and FHL (Brooklyn Aviators).
Colin Ronayne coached four seasons overseeing the men's hockey program at Cleary University.​ He was also the head coach for Oakland University, an ACHA Division 1 program, for two years after serving as assistant coach for two years. ​

Jp (Jon-Paul) Ferrari
A three-time ACHA Division 1 national champion at Oakland University, Jon-Paul Ferrari’s path to co-owning Puckmasters was unexpected. After struggling to find fulfillment in marketing and sales, a chance call from his former coach led him to a small hockey training facility in Wixom, MI. Within a month, he discovered his passion for coaching and took a leap of faith, becoming a business owner at 24.
​
Through dedication, grassroots marketing, and an elite coaching staff, Jon-Paul helped grow Puckmasters into a top-tier training facility for players of all levels. He remains committed to developing athletes and mentoring young players navigating their own post-hockey paths.​
​
He now loves coaching his 2014 son, Dominic.

Skill Coach
Justin Mcfatridge
Justin has been training at Puckmasters for 6 years. He played for Lakeland High School during his youth hockey career before joining the JV coaching staff, where the team became a state runner up ('16). After high school, Justin played college hockey for Adrian College (ACHA D3) and graduated from AC in 2018.
​
He was the in the MIHA Roller Championship ('24) and is the top driver at Ford Driving School.

Skill Coach
Mackenzie Day
Mackenzie has been training at Puckmasters for 6 years and is now a coach here. She played youth hockey for Belle Tire AAA Girls and is now playing college hockey at Aurora University (NCAA D3) where she is studying Sports Management.

She was a 2X MAHA State Champion, 3X qualifier for Nationals, and has reffed a state championship.

Skill Coach
Max Cohen
Max played youth hockey for Belle Tire AAA and later went on to play juniors for the Oregon Tradesmen (NA3HL).

After juniors, he went on to play college hockey for Adrian College (ACHA D1 & D2)
​
Max was also a first team All-State High School athlete and has been in an ACHA D1 National Championship.

Managing Coach / Head Coach, Social Media, Skills Instructor
Mike Baker (AKA Bakes)
Mike Baker brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to Puckmasters, where he serves as Head Coach, Manager, and Social Media Director. A former junior hockey player, Mike competed in Wisconsin, Atlanta, and Toledo before advancing to college hockey at Oakland University. He later played professionally for the Port Huron Prowlers and the Carolina Thunderbird, where he won a championship.
​
With over a decade of coaching experience at Puckmasters, Mike has been instrumental in shaping the development of young hockey players, focusing on skill progression and on-ice IQ. His dedication extends beyond coaching, as he also manages daily operations and spearheads Puckmasters’ social media presence, ensuring the facility remains an elite training center. Mike’s passion for the game and commitment to player development make him a vital leader in the Puckmasters community as he coaches the 2010 Novi ice Cats.

Morgan Leib
Morgan has been training at Puckmasters for 14 years and is now a coach here. She played youth hockey for Little Caesars AAA Girls before going to play college hockey for Utica University (NCAAA D3), Saint Mary's University (NCAA D3), and now Michigan State University (ACHA D1).

She is a 4.0 student and was in NHS. She will be graduating from Michigan State University with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Leadership in Organizations.

Puckmasters Co-Owner, Managing Member, & Hockey Coach
Nick Griffin
Nick Griffin has been coaching over a decade with Kensington Valley Hockey Association and Biggby Coffee AAA. He fosters a winning culture by emphasizing hard work, teamwork, and character development, shaping his players into both great athletes and great people.​ Nick challenges players to push themselves beyond the rink, expecting them to listen, learn, and never waste an opportunity to improve.
​
As a player, Nick competed within the Belle Tire organization, winning a state championship, and later secured a national championship with Michigan State’s (ACHA) hockey team. After retiring from a fortune 300 company in 2024, he became a co-owner of Puckmasters, dedicated to expanding access to elite hockey training and growing the game.

Skill Coach
Nolan Berner
Nolan has been training at Puckmasters his whole hockey career and is now working here. Nolan is a 2X First Team All-State, Division 3 State Champion, SVL Honorable Mention, and SVL First Team.

Nolan played for Flint Powers Catholic High School before going on to play juniors for the Stouffville Spirit (OJHL), Boston Junior Terroirs (EHL), and is now committed to play at Misericordia University (NCAA D3).

Skill Coach
Nolan Turi
Nolan has been training at Puckmasters through his youth while he played for Victory Honda AAA, Compuware AAA, and won a state title at U15 with OJG AAA. He advanced to the NAHL and OJHL before playing for the Metro Jets (USPHL) and later Finlandia University (NCAA D3).
He finished his college playing for Aquinas College in the ACHA and is now a dedicated coach for Puckasters over the past 7 years.
