To accelerate expansion in Michigan and North Carolina
DETROIT, MI — Puckmasters Hockey Training Facility — the leader in real-ice, data-driven hockey development — today announced that Team USA goaltender, NHL All-Star, Hart Trophy winner, and three-time Vezina Trophy–winning goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has joined the company as an investor to support the organization’s next phase of national expansion.
Hellebuyck’s investment will help fund two state-of-the-art Puckmasters training centers in Detroit-Shelby, Michigan and Raleigh-Rolesville, North Carolina. Each facility will feature real-ice training rinks, performance gym systems, a skating treadmill, shooting and goalie lanes, cognitive development classrooms, and integrated athlete progression tracking.
A Personal and Foundational Connection
Hellebuyck’s relationship with Puckmasters goes back more than a decade. Before becoming one of the top goaltenders in the world, he coached at Puckmasters in his late teens and early twenties. In a defining career moment, he stepped off the ice from a private lesson at Puckmasters to learn he had just been selected in the NHL Draft.
“I’m extremely excited to get on board and share the same vision as Puckmasters to offer training to all ages on and off the ice! Puckmasters offers the full package training: mental, video, off ice and on ice which being a part of the vision in my early career helped tremendously and I look forward to seeing the next generation take the steps I wish were more accessible when I was younger!” said Hellebuyck
Puckmasters Owner and General Manager Jp Ferrari shared similar reflections.
“It was a pleasure having Connor on our coaching roster. His work ethic as a young goaltending coach matched the work ethic he has shown throughout his NHL career. Having Connor join the Puckmasters family is incredibly exciting.”
Puckmasters Managing Member Nick Griffin emphasized how Hellebuyck’s story reflects the company’s mission.
“That moment of Connor getting drafted while working at Puckmasters will always be part of our company’s history. He’s now one of the best goaltenders in the world, and he represents exactly what we believe in—year-round training that builds confidence and habits that go beyond the rink,” said Griffin. “The fact that Connor shares our vision for expanding our state-of-the-art hockey training centers and helping grow the game is truly inspiring. We are grateful to have him as our partner.”
